It has been over a decade since Namco Bandai’s Klonoa made its foray into gaming. Klonoa’s debut has been remade with a graphical makeover and simply titled Klonoa for the Nintendo Wii.
It follows the story of Klonoa and his friend, Hewpoe, as they start off to investigate a mysterious crash near their home in Phantomile. With the power of the Wind Bullet in his hands and his faithful friend Hewpoe besides him, it is up to Klonoa to save Phantomile.
There are six different areas in Klonoa called Visions. Each Vision is divided into two stages, with a boss fight at the end of the second stage. After completing all the visions, one final boss fight is opened. On your way, you can rescue villagers that are hidden throughout each level. The remake also features a significantly more challenging stage that is unlocked by completing the main story line.
The updated visuals look impressive and complement the game well. The game sounds great. The game’s compositions are fitting and the sound effects work well. The tight controls and clever level design give rise to a satisfying adventure that is a delight.
